The combination of predator management and habitat restoration, sustained over time and coordinated across landscapes, offers the best-evidenced pathway to stabilising populations. Headstarting may provide a bridge for the most imperilled local populations while longer-term measures take effect. None of this is cheap, and none of it is quick.
